[3] on kpop biases

whereismikoat the start of my kpoppie journey, i had a hard time with grasping the concept of biasing. it felt different than just having a favourite member, like in the case of bandom, which was the only music fandom i've been active in before. it felt more of a deliberate choice, one that you then needed to stick to.
now, i mostly think it was my autistic black and white thinking. there's no universal way of choosing a bias, and what a bias truly is. i realised i can't get into people's minds, can't understand their reasoning entirely, and just accepted that a bias is whatever a person wants a bias to be. that it's also okay to change biases, have multiple. we change, our idols change. it's just fun, and it's more fun without labels.
i can confidently say my bias in stray kids is han jisung. i feel a very deep connection with his songs, the way his thinking goes, i resonate with the little glimpses of his life that he decides to show to us, whether during shows or in his bubble messages. there's certainly a language barrier in place, i feel a bit sad that i can't listen to his words directly. but honestly, sometimes it makes me love him more. to know there's a person you feel somehow connected with, across the ocean, with some struggles you relate to is a good thought. it's a bit of a balm for my rough skin, rough life.
when it comes to my other faves, my other biases, i would say i'm very appeciative of faces and expressiveness. i struggle to read subtle tone changes and body language. when someone is earnest and expressionate, it makes me feel nice, and safe, and included. i really like that about wooyoung as well. he's one expressionate guy, the tone of his voice always carries strong meaning on top of his words. i like that a lot. i also like people, who are not afraid to be vulnerable. there's some force pulling me toward them. besides the aforementioned two, yoongi, taehyung, joshua are like that for me. or maybe it's just my gaydar going off.
